Course Description
This course will focus on the therapeutic process,
examining the meanings communicated by both patient and therapist, and
how individual dynamics are expressed in the present, particularly the
therapeutic setting. Articles will be assigned from time to time when applicable
to a case.
Goals
-
Deepen our understanding of the free associative mode
of conveying psychic meaning.
-
Deepen our understanding of the transference, countertransference
interplay in the therapeutic setting.
-
Further integrate the clinical phenomena with theoretical
understandings.

of the case presentation or class discussion that aroused interest. These
are to be approximately one page in length.
