Dean’s Letter

Dear Prospective Student,

If your professional ambitions include attaining clinical excellence and expanding your career opportunities by achieving a prestigious degree, you will want to consider our doctoral program. The Institute for Clinical Social Work was developed over 25 years ago by leading social work clinicians and scholars to fill the gap in clinical education.

ICSW’s accredited and widely respected Ph.D. program is designed for full-time professionals. Our focus is on clinical practice in our classes, in our research, and in our unique practicum program, allowing students to meet individually with our exceptional faculty to advance their clinical and research skills.

Our contemporary psychodynamic perspective provides a comprehensive understanding of human motivation and behavior, addressing the broad range of issues facing clinicians today. Our graduates’ research has significantly contributed to the profession and provides a theoretical foundation for clinicians who are called upon to treat the complex bio-psycho-social problems of their clientele.

Your professional growth is the goal of our other programs as well. Our Advanced Clinical Practice Program and continuing education opportunities offer the highest quality educational experiences in formats less intensive than the full-time curriculum.

Please accept our invitation to sit in on a class or attend one of our professional enrichment events, free of charge. I am available to answer any questions that you may have, or to introduce you to one of our students, alumni, or faculty members.

We welcome your interest in our distinctive community of clinicians/scholars.

Sincerely yours,
Amy Eldridge, Ph.D.
Dean, The Institute for Clinical Social Work
