Application Procedure

Individuals interested in applying to the Institute should be guided by the following instructions:

  1. Applicants should submit a completed application form. You may fill out the application online, or you may download the form and submit it by mail.
  2. Applicants should arrange for official transcripts to be sent directly from undergraduate and graduate schools to the Institute.
  3. Applicants must submit a 2-3 page statement of purpose, explaining why you are interested in the program you are applying to, what makes you a good applicant, and what you hope to gain from the program.
  4. Applicants must a sample of written case material. For more information, please refer to the Written Case Material Guidelines
  5. Three letters of recommendation are required. At least one should address the applicant's academic ability, and two should describe clinical experience and competence. It is especially useful to have letters from current supervisors familiar with the applicant's practice. For more information, please refer to the Letter of Recommendation Guidelines.
  6. A non-refundable application fee $100 payable to the Institute for Clinical Social Work. Please submit this payment with the other application materials. Applications are due May 1st. Applications received after May 1st will be considered on a "space available basis."
