The Emotional Wounds of War:
Clinical Work with Military, Veterans, and their Families
The Institute for Clinical Social Work is pleased to present The Emotional Wounds of War: Clinical Work with Military, Veterans, and their Families, a conference that will explore the application of psychodynamically informed concepts with the most challenging, traumatized clients in equally challenging practice settings. In keynote presentations, clinical experts Commander Russell Carr, MD, and Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Yarvis, PhD, will discuss the realities of clinical work with active duty personnel and veterans. Elizabeth Rottenberg, PhD, will explore from a philosophical perspective ideas about the “time bending” nature of trauma. Additional presentations from diverse practice settings will examine the efficacy of psychodynamic treatment models with traumatized clients.
