The Institute for Clinical Social Work

Clinical Practice Program

Our one-year Clinical Practice Program (CPP) is designed for clinicians who want to enhance their clinical skills and be more effective in their practice settings. The CPP ensures clinicians will obtain a rich and comprehensive experience that will deepen their understanding of the client’s emotional life and focus on the therapeutic relationship.

Participants in the CPP receive:

Participants will earn 30 CEUs and a certificate upon completion. LSW and LPC participants seeking clinical supervision hours to help satisfy the 3000-hour requirement for state LCSW and LCPC licensure may make individual arrangements with ICSW consultants.

The 2013/14 Clinical Practice Program will begin in September 2013 and continue through April 2014 on the meeting dates below. Clinical Lectures and Conferences will be held at ICSW at the Robert Morris Center, 401 South State Street, 8th Floor. Individual Consultations will take place at times and locations mutually determined by the student and consultant, but most likely at the consultant’s office.

Group Case Conferences

What does a clinician need to know to be effective? How does the therapeutic process work in a wide range of clinical settings? Both semesters will focus on helping students advance their clinical skills by focusing on the therapeutic relationship and deepening the student’s understanding of the client’s emotional life. Instructors will use readings, class discussions, case material and student case presentations to provide a rich and relevant learning experience. The Group Case Conference meets from 9:00–11:30 am on the following dates:

Fall 2013

Spring 2014
