Writing for Publication, A Lecture and Workshop

11/23

The Institute for Clinical Social Work is proud to present “Writing for Publication: A Lecture and Workshop,” offered by Carol Tosone, Editor-in-Chief of the Clinical Social Work Journal. The presentation will be on Saturday, November 23, from 10 am to 4 pm. CEUs will be offered, and the cost is $50 per person for the day-long event, which includes lunch. (Note: The cost to current ICSW students is just $25.)

Do you have a clinical case or a research project that you would like to write-up and publish? Are you unsure where to begin? If so, we invite you to participate in a one-day presentation and workshop by Carol Tosone. She will give a lecture in the morning on the “nuts and bolts” of writing for publication, where to start, and what constitutes a scholarly approach. Following the lecture, there will be a period for questions and answers. We will provide lunch in a format that will allow for continued discussion.

Participants will then meet for a workshop with the goal of developing their ideas and strategies for presenting them in a scholarly format. This presentation is open to all ICSW students, alums, and faculty (as well as anyone else in the field – so please spread the word to colleagues and friends), and is designed for anyone interested in presenting or publishing. If you have written papers or presented case material but are unsure of how to expand your work to a larger audience, or if you are currently working on projects and would like assistance in shaping them, we encourage you to attend. In particular, ICSW encourages all current doctoral students to consider attending the presentation, as writing a publishable journal article based on your dissertation is a graduation requirement. (Note: day-long presentation and workshop will be videotaped so that it can be available to ICSW students not able to attend the presentation.)
