Alexander Brown

Alexander Brown, MBA, PhD, LCSW has over twenty-five experience providing services and managing programs in nonprofit organizations. He is currently Executive Director of Friedman Place, a nonprofit organization that provides residential supported living to adults who are blind or visually impaired in Chicago. He has also served as executive director for two other organizations that provide residential services and has managed community-based programs that serve older adults. Dr. Brown has a doctorate in clinical social work and a master’s degree in business administration. He teaches graduate-level courses in human resources, marketing, financial management, and competitive strategy at DePaul University’s School of Public Service and Concordia University’s School of Business. He has also served as a nonprofit consultant for over 10 years and has served on the boards of directors of five nonprofits, including a professional trade association. He presents frequently to both professional and lay audiences on a wide range of topics related to both clinical and administrative matters.
