Guess Who’s Going to Dinner? Patient, Friend, and Would be Lovers
What happens when otherwise relatively secure boundaries between the outside world and the treatment room crumble, stirring bodily and affect states that threaten to undermine self-regulation, focus and authenticity? When the relational context expands and two becomes three or more, the frame can sag under the weight of new and uninvited objects; ethical and clinical questions abound. This presentation describes a sometimes desperate search for answers still to be discovered.
