Summer in the City: Courage

The secret to happiness is freedom… And the secret to freedom is courage. Thucydides

This summer series explores courage: how to stand in the spaces that scare us and find ways to act in the face of profound pain or fear.  It takes courage to join our patients in the places they most seek to avoid and to unflinchingly let these places become known.  Join us for a discussion about courageous clinical moments and how to manage the impulse to reassure, mitigate or in other ways distance from the rawness of feeling one often lives with alone.
