The Aging Psychotherapist and the Power of Women’s Wisdom

The presentation aims to explore the issues of Aging as a Psychotherapist through both historical and clinical lenses. The presentation will explore the complex ways in which the psychotherapeutic field has thought about aging, particularly aging as a female therapist. The presentation will use clinical vignettes to examine the powerful feelings which the dynamics of aging, illness, retirement and loss evoke both in the therapist and in the client.
