Women’s Experience in Agency Practice

Women make their careers in social work agencies for many different reasons. We are leaders, administrators, therapists and line staff. We create structures, design programs, act as advocates and mentors, and we directly intervene in the lives of many kinds of people, especially those who are vulnerable, and who have been underserved or marginalized. We are drawn to agencies looking for community. We come seeking social justice. We come to find our own voices.
