Geneva Finn
Geneva Finn is a distinguished legal professional with over fifteen years of experience in public service, policy development, and advocacy within the State of Minnesota. She currently serves as the Medicaid Recovery Manager for the Minnesota Department of Human Services, where she oversees staff and program operations that recover more than $60 million annually for medical assistance spending. Throughout her career at the Department of Human Services, Geneva has held several critical roles, including Administrative Law Attorney and Policy and Planning Attorney, where she provided legal analysis, defended state health programs, and successfully implemented large-scale legislative changes.
Her extensive legal background is rooted in academic excellence, having graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2007. Geneva’s professional journey also includes time as a solo practitioner focusing on family law and civil litigation, as well as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota Law School Clinics, where she mentored and supervised law student attorneys. Beyond her administrative and legal duties, she has been a prolific contributor to her field, authoring numerous publications on regional policy, fair housing, and mortgage lending disparities.
In addition to her professional achievements, Geneva is a recognized leader who has completed the State of Minnesota Senior Leadership Institute and has been honored with multiple DHS Achievement Awards for her collaborative work in estate recovery program administration. Her deep commitment to community and policy is evident in her past work as a Research Fellow for the Institute on Race and Poverty, where she produced original research on race and poverty issues in the Twin Cities region. Geneva brings this wealth of legal expertise, leadership experience, and dedication to community equity to her role on the school board.
