Dear Friends and Colleagues:
This is a bittersweet moment.
My appointment serving the Institute for Clinical Social Work as Interim President has come to and end. It is with both gladness and a deep sense of pride and humility that I write to thank all for this exceptional opportunity.
I want to express my thankfulness to the ICSW Board, institute leadership, faculty, staff, alumni, community and students who have contributed to helping build the pathway for success for ICSW.
Your commitment and focus on excellence are what makes ICSW an innovative, distinctive, pioneering psychodynamic educational institution. Through your good works, we are making the world a better place.
On June 1, Dr. Milka Ramírez will take office as the 9th president of the Institute for Clinical Social Work. I have had an opportunity to meet with Dr. Ramírez, she is a dynamic individual highly motivated, creative, possessing an innovative spirit combined with experience as an educator, scholar, researcher, leader, clinician, mentor, all skills vital to building a strong dynamic organization.
Her firm commitment to access, equity and social justice aligns directly with the mission and values of ICSW. I am confident that she will be a prime advocate and activator helping to build a sustainable, strong, viable future for ICSW.
Dr. Ramírez is the right person at the right time for ICSW.
To all in the Institute for Clinical Social Work and community, thank you for allowing me the honor and privilege to serve as the interim president. You have reminded me that teaching and importantly learning are lifelong processes.
I will remain in a consultative capacity over the next few months to assist in the leadership transition.
I want to express my most heartfelt thanks for your cooperation, patience, and support during my role as interim president.
With my absolute best wishes and hopes for continued success.
