
Postdoctoral Fellowship in Neuro-psychoanalytic Psychotherapy & The Developmental Neurobiological Model
Yellowbrick is seeking a Doctoral Fellow for a 3-year fellowship to begin in September 2025 The purpose of the fellowship is to provide in-depth training and experience conducting intensive psychotherapy organized around the principles of research integrating developmental neurobiology and psychoanalytic approaches applied to individual, group and family therapies within PHP, IOP and Outpatient settings.
The Fellow will be a member of the assessment team, and provide individual, group and family therapies under senior professional supervision. The Fellow will participate in the assessment, treatment and research activities of Yellowbrick’s sister outpatient practice with exposure to quantitative EEG, pharmaco-genomic testing, cognitive assessment and enhancement, and neuromodulation techniques such as transcranial magnetic stimulation and neurofeedback. Development of an empirical research project or participation in ongoing Yellowbrick research is encouraged and supported. Fellows are supervised by senior clinicians and learn from multidisciplinary expert colleagues as they function as full members among Yellowbrick’s Professional Staff.
Yellowbrick is affiliated with The Institute for Clinical Social Work, Rosalind Franklin University/The Chicago Medical School and the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis. We are also strategic clinical partners with The Menninger Clinic (Baylor Medical School), Austen Riggs Center, and McLean Hospital (Harvard Medical School). Yellowbrick has interns from The Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, UIC Occupational Therapy and Adler University.
Strong interest in the integration of neuroscience and in-depth psychotherapies is essential. Interest in empirical research preferred. Candidate must be Doctoral level and have completed required internships. Licensed in Illinois preferred.
Yellowbrick/Synchrony Brain Health will provide tuition and a monthly stipend of $2,000/month to the Fellow.
Two year fellowship with chance to renew for up to three years upon annual review.
